CHICAGO FIRE HIT THE ROAD TO TAKE ON NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION
The Chicago Fire (9-9-4, 31 points) hit the road to take on the New England Revolution (8-9-6, 30 points) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. CT (My50/La Ley 107.9).
This is the second of three meetings between the two sides this season. The Fire were edged 1-0 by the Revolution on Opening Night at Toyota Park on March 9. The Fire will host the final leg of the series at Toyota Park on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. CT (My50/La Ley 107.9).
The Fire enter Saturday’s match after defeating the Montreal Impact 2-1 at Toyota Park Saturday evening. The Revolution enter the match after a 3-0 road defeat at the hands of Sporting Kansas City.
Following the match in New England the Fire return home and welcome Sporting Kansas City on Friday, Aug. 23 in a match presented by TrueCar at 7:30 p.m. CT (NBC Sports Network/La Ley 107.9). The first 5,000 fans in the stadium will receive a TrueCar car flag.

CHICAGO FIRE vs. New England Revolution
-The Fire hold a 19-16-9 all-time MLS Regular Season record against the New England Revolution and are 8-11-3 in matches played on the road.
-The Men in Red are unbeaten in their last four league matches
-Selected by the Revolution in the fourth round (45th overall) in the 2005 MLS Supplemental Draft, Larentowicz made 111 regular season appearances for the Revolution from 2005-2009. The Revolution reached MLS Cup in his first three seasons with the side.
-Wells Thompson was drafted by the New England Revolution in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, and went on to make 71 regular season appearances in three seasons for the Revolution. In his rookie season, Thompson made 27 appearances and started 11 matches, then started all four post-season games for the Revs, including the 2007 MLS Cup final. Thompson made his MLS debut against the Fire on April 7, 2007. He also notched his first professional goal against the Men in Red on May 6, 2007.
-Larentowicz and Thompson joined the Colorado Rapids in 2010 in a trade that sent former Fire defender Cory Gibbs to the New England Revolution.
-Milford, Mass. product Michael Videira was selected in the second round (18th overall) in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft but elected to sign with Hamilton Academical of the Scottish Premier League. Videira returned to sign with the Revolution in 2009, making 12 appearances and played a total of 973 minutes from 2009-10.
-Fire forward Mike Magee was a late scratch for the Fire’s 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact on Saturday, Aug. 10 due to right calf tightness. With a career-best 14 goals on the season, Magee currently sits tied with Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Camilo Sanvezzo atop the tightly-contested MLS Golden Boot race.
-Juan Luis Anangono made his first MLS appearance for the Men in Red on Saturday, starting and going 76 minutes in the win.
-With his substitute appearance Saturday, Chris Rolfe moved past Diego Gutierrez into eighth place on the club’s All Competitions appearance list with 198 games played.
-Midfielder Logan Pause returned to the starting lineup for the first time since June 22 and captained his side to victory.
-Fire forward Quincy Amarikwa tallied a brace in the Fire’s 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact in MLS Reserve League action Sunday morning at Toyota Park. Amarikwa’s first goal of the morning was a 34th minute bicycle kick.
-Fire defender Steven Kinney started and featured for 58 minutes in Sunday’s Reserve match. This was Kinney’s first match since March 9 as the Norcross, Ga. native was recuperating from a right quad strain.
CHICAGO FIRE LAUNCH THIRD KIT DESIGN CONTEST
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club has partnered with iconic jersey sponsor The Quaker Oats Company, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., to launch the #cf97ThirdKit design contest, asking Fire supporters to submit designs for the jersey the Fire plans to unveil at the club’s Anniversary game in 2014.
The five best designs will be chosen by the Chicago Fire and Quaker Oats. Once the final designs are selected, each winner will work directly with the club’s creative team to place the design into an adidas-approved jersey template. The final designs will then be put to a fan vote on www.Chicago-Fire.com.
The winning design will become a part of Fire history and will be scheduled to make its debut for the Anniversary game in 2014, in addition to other future matchday opportunities. The winner will also receive round trip airfare and accommodations for two to attend the Fire’s match against the Portland Timbers in 2014, including a private tour of the adidas campus in Portland, an opportunity to meet with adidas jersey designers and $500.00 to spend at the adidas employee store. All five selected designers will receive two tickets to sit in the Chicago Fire’s Second Star Club for a Fire match.
To be considered, entrants must download a template form for the design from www.Chicago-Fire.com. This template form will include blank outlines for entrant’s design. Using the template form, entrants must design the new team third jersey (front/sleeves/back). Submissions may be sent tocf97thirdkit@chicago-fire.com, delivered in-person or via mail per the official rules. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, August 14.

CHICAGO FIRE HOLD THIRD ANNUAL PRACTICE IN THE COMMUNITY
For the third consecutive year the club will hold a Practice in the Community, presented by University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Stuart Field (31st and South Federal) on Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CT. Chicago Fire First Team training is scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. CT and is subject to change.
The Fire will venture away from their soccer-specific home of Toyota Park to the Practice in the Community event,bringing the entire Fire team to Chicago’s South Side for a full training session that is open to the general public. Following the practice, the Fire will interact with the fans and members of the local community by signing autographs and talking soccer.
Fans who attend Practice in the Community will also have the opportunity to win a VIP Gameday Experience for the Sept. 1 match against the Houston Dynamo at Toyota Park. This package will include four field-side seats, the opportunity to watch warm ups from the field, access to a post-game autograph session in the Stadium Club and a Fire fan gift pack, including a team autographed Fire jersey.
