CHICAGO (March 13, 2015) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club and ALDI announced the extension of their partnership today, naming ALDI as the presenting sponsor of Chicago Fire mascot Sparky.

“We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with ALDI,” said Atul Khosla, COO, Chicago Fire Soccer Club. “They are particularly adept at engaging with our supporters and we are glad that they have returned this season.”

The Fire and ALDI created a video featuring Sparky to celebrate the partnership, which can be viewed above. All of the kits that Sparky wears will feature an ALDI patch. In addition to appearing at all Fire games, Sparky serves as an ambassador for the club and attends a multitude of events throughout the year including youth events, parades and soccer tournaments.

“ALDI is thrilled to be partnering again this year with the Chicago Fire and very excited to be the presenting sponsor of Sparky for 2015,” said Scott Patton, Batavia division Vice President for ALDI. “We are looking forward to another great soccer season and even more SAVES by the Milkman, Sean Johnson!”

As in the past, fans at Fire home games will receive a coupon for free milk courtesy of ALDI whenever a Chicago Fire goalkeeper makes three or more saves. Fire ‘keeper and U.S. international Sean Johnson has served as the face of the Milkman campaign for the past two seasons and was featured in the promotional campaign that can be viewed here.

The Men in Red return to action when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Toyota Park for their home opener on Saturday, March 14 at 5 p.m. CT (Comcast SportsNet Chicago/ESPN Deportes 97.5 FM). Tickets for the match are available here and via Ticketmaster.
