Chicago Fire Earn Shutout In 0-0 Road Draw With Colorado Rapids

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Wednesday, June 4, 2014) –  The Chicago Fire (2-3-8, 14 points) earned their first shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw against the Colorado Rapids (6-4-4, 22 points) Wednesday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.


The Fire wrap up the busy week when they host the Seattle Sounders FC, presented by AthleticoPhysical Therapy, on Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. CT (My50/La Ley 107.9 FM). -With the draw, the Fire move to 18-12-9 all-time against the Rapids in regular season play and 3-9-7 in matches played in Colorado.


-Facing the second of three games this week, Fire Head Coach Frank Yallop made five changes to the lineup that played the LA Galaxy to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, June 1 at Toyota Park.


-The Fire faced nine attempts on goal and ‘keeper Sean Johnson recorded two saves en route to the first shutout of the season.
