CHICAGO (July 21, 2014) — The Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Barclay’s Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur FC have detailed a schedule of events in advance of Tottenham’s trip to the Windy City for an international friendly, presented by Target, on Saturday, July 26. Kickoff before a nationally televised audience on ESPN2 is set for 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park. Tickets for the match are available via Ticketmaster and www.Chicago-Fire.com.
On Friday, July 25, Spurs legend Ledley King joins Fire assistant coach and Ring of Fire member C.J. Brown at Giordano’s Pizza (730 North Rush Street, Chicago, Ill.) at 9:30 a.m. to learn the intricacies of a classic Chicago-style deep dish pie.
Friday will also feature a double open training session at Toyota Park, with the Men in Red scheduled to take the field at 1:30 p.m. The Fire’s training session will be followed by a 3:30 p.m. press conference featuring Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop, Spurs Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and a player from each side. Tottenham will then take the field for their open training session at 4:30 p.m. Both sessions are free and open to the general public.
On Saturday, July 26, Tottenham will continue their tour of Chicago with a visit to a local children’s hospital. Fire players Matt Fondy and Patrick Ianni will be joined by Ledley King and other Spurs players at the Children’s Hospital University of Illinois (1740 West Taylor Street, Chicago Ill.) at 12:30 p.m. Spurs mascot Chirpy and Fire mascot Sparky will also be in attendance as the group sets out to meet and greet hospital patients and their families.
