Chicago Fire Academy Record Win, Loss, Draw in MLS NEXT Play Last Weekend

CHICAGO (March 29, 2023) - The Chicago Fire Academy returned to action, traveling to Missouri and Indiana this past weekend for MLS NEXT matches, picking up a 1-1-1 record across all age groups. 

U-13 Academy 

The youngest of the four academies was on the road this previous weekend when they took on the Lou Fouz Academy at the Lou Fusz Athletic Complex in St. Louis, Mo. The match resulted in a 1-1 draw between the two clubs. Scoring the lone goal for Chicago was Noah George, who capitalized on a chance created by George Valenti to help give the Fire a point in the standings. With the result, the U-13's sit in fifth place of the Mid-American Division with a record of 8-4-7, 31 points.

The U-13's will return to MLS NEXT play at home against Sockers F.C. on Sunday, April 2. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. CT at the SeatGeek Stadium fields.

U-14 Academy 

The U-14 Academy recorded the lone victory for the Fire last weekend. In their match against the Lou Fouz Academy, they came out on top with a 5-0 victory at the Lou Fouz Athletic Complex in St. Louis, Mo. With goals from Jesus Garcia, Robert Turdean, Emiliano Chavez, Gavin Panveno and Darris Hyte, the Fire now cruise at the top of their division with an undefeated record of 17-0-1, 52 points.

The U-14 Academy return to Chicago this weekend and host Sockers F.C. on Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m. CT at the SeatGeek Stadium fields. 

U-15 Academy 

With a bye week, the U-15 Academy were not in action. The U-15 Academy is set to compete in the 2023 Generation adidas Cup, taking place from April 1-9 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

They will begin their tournament against Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy on Saturday, April 1 at 11:30 a.m. CT, KRC Gent on Sunday, April 2 at 11:30 a.m. and LA Galaxy on Monday, April 3 at 11:30 a.m. 

U-17 Academy 

The oldest members of the Chicago Fire Academy were also on the road this previous weekend. Taking on the Indiana Fire Academy, the Fire suffered a 4-1 loss against Indiana, with Kamden Held scoring the lone goal for Chicago. With the defeat, Chicago sits in seventh place of the Mid-America Division with a record of 5-5-2, 17 points.

Joining the U-15's, the U-17 Academy will be participating in the 2023 Generation adidas Cup in Bradenton, Fla. In their opener, they’ll be facing Seattle Sounders FC Academy on Saturday, April 1 at 4:30 p.m. CT, FC Dallas on Sunday, April 2 at 4:30 p.m. CT, before ending round robin play against Club Athlétic River Plate on Monday, April 3 at 2 p.m. Select Generation adidas Cup matches will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+, with broadcast details to be announced at a later date by the league.
