CHICAGO(Nov. 8, 2017) – Chicago Fire midfielder David Accam underwent bilateral sports hernia surgery on Tuesday. The procedure was performed without complication by Dr. William Hutchinson at the Pacific Coast Hernia Center.
Accam appeared in 30 matches and played 2,177 minutes for the Men In Red this season, both career highs for his time in Major League Soccer. Accam additionally set MLS career highs with 14 goals to his name and a team-leading eight assists in 2017.
Accam is expected to be cleared for the start of training camp in January.
