Midwest Premier League side Chicago House AC defeated USL League One side Forward Madison 3-2 in extra time at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, April 11. House came from behind, overcoming a 2-0 Madison lead with two goals in regulation and scoring the game-winner in the 103rd minute.

Formerly part of the National Independent Soccer Association, House was established in 2020 and began play in 2021. The team shifted to the MWPL in 2022. Chicago Fire FC assistant coach and Ring of Fire member C.J. Brown was the first head coach and technical director in Chicago House history, guiding the team before joining Fire head coach Ezra Hendricksonā€™s coaching staff ahead of the 2022 MLS season.

The Fire have won four U.S. Open Cup trophies in Club history, winning the 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2006 editions of the tournament. Chicagoā€™s four titles are tied with Seattle Sounders FC and Sporting KC for the most championships won by an MLS team, and the second-most in the history of the tournament. Additionally, the Fire have appeared in the semifinals on 13 occasions, including six times in an eight-year period (2011-2018), tallying a 45-16-7 all-time record in the annual competition.

A knockout style competition, the Open Cup is the second oldest continually operating soccer tournament in the world. This yearā€™s champion will automatically secure a berth in the 2024 Concacaf Champions League. For more information on the U.S. Open Cup, click here.
