Pawel Szynalik
Chief Financial Officer
Pawel Szynalik joined the Fire in 2011 and has served as Chief Financial Officer since January 2018.
Szynalik, a CPA licensed in the State of Illinois, is responsible for overseeing critical functions of the Club, including Finance, Accounting, Payroll, Information Technology, as well as Administration and Operations. Additionally, Szynalik spearheads the Club’s annual planning and budgeting process and plays a major role in setting the Club’s strategic direction. Szynalik joined the Fire as a Controller in 2011 and quickly rose through the ranks while overseeing variety of Club functions, including Human Resources and Legal.
Prior to joining the Fire, Pawel spent over 6 years in public accounting in KPMG’s Chicago office serving audit clients across various industries.
Originally from Poland, Pawel moved to Chicago with his family when he was 11 years old. He attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago and obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Pawel is a lifelong Fire fan, beginning with the Club’s inception in 1997. One of Pawel’s fondest memories was cheering on the Fire as they went on to win the MLS Cup as well as the U.S. Open Cup in the Club’s inaugural season. Pawel currently resides in Mount Prospect with his wife and two children.
